Lizzie Bayliss shows how light interacts with a floating scarf.
As part of our tutorial day at her home/studio, Lizzie gave us our first demonstration of how throwing a scarf can create a superb effect. LIzzie’s patterns were especially interesting because of the limited space within which she created them.
There is, of course, an element of chance what the scarf is doing when the shutter opens. When dealing with inexperienced photographers like us, there was a greater chance we would only get the preparation. Even so, it’s an interesting picture of a beautiful model.
We have tried similar pictures with other models since. Thank you, Lizzie, for introducing us to this art form.
